Klingenberg is an experienced chartered accountant with a career spanning over twenty-three years.
“Filling the position of CFO concludes a thorough and transparent process. The board is looking forward to having Carl join the team since he could bring a new perspective with his experience gained in, inter alia, the mining sector," said Danie Minnaar, Chairman of the board.
Francois Strydom, Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the appointment. He expressed the wish that Carl, who also hails from a rural area, will quickly find his feet and support the group in rolling out a very focused strategy.
Klingenberg attained a BCom (Acc) degree in 1999, after which he started his career at KPMG and subsequently obtained his BCom (Acc) Hons degree in 2000. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 2003. In 2004 he joined the former Deloitte and Touché in Bermuda. He moved to the mining sector in 2006 and joined BHP Billiton as Audit Manager and then as Operational Finance Leader. In October 2011 he was appointed as Financial Manager by Tendele Coal and was later promoted to General Manager: Finance.
He is married and has two young daughters.
