It's that time of the year when the ICC recognises and celebrates the achievement of players and teams over the past year. The last 12 months have seen brilliant performances on the world stage as well as numerous hard-fought bilateral series.

The nominees for each category have been decided by the Awards Panel, which comprises prominent journalists and broadcasters from across the globe as well as the ICC General Management.

Lizelle has been nominated for the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year as well as the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year. The first is in recognition of best overall performance in women’s international cricket, including tests, ODI and T20Is during 2021. In this category, Lee will face off with Tammy Beaumont, Smriti Mandhana and Gaby Lewis.

The second nomination is in recognition of Lizelle’s overall performance in women’s ODI cricket during 2021 and here she will compete against the likes of Tammy Beaumont, Hayley Matthews and Fatima Sana.

How will the winners be decided?

As was the case in the previous year, fans of the game will have a say in the outcome of the results. Starting 5 January 2022, fans can vote for the nominees of the following categories:

  • Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year
  • ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year
  • ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year

The fan vote will make up 10% of the voting, while that of the Voting Academy will make up the remaining 90%.

The winners of the Women’s Awards will be announced on 23 January 2022.
