Senwes Directors

Francois acted as CEO from 1 June 2010 and was appointed as CEO on 6 August 2010. Prior to this appointment he was the director of operations, which position he filled from 2002. He joined Senwes in 2001 and was seconded to the former Kolosus Beherend as managing director. He started his career as animal scientist at AFGRI, and was promoted to the position of director: grain at AFGRI over a period of 13 years.

Steve is the vice-chairman of the board of directors since 2010 and has extensive business and corporate experience. His career stretched from the academic environment, through the ranks of Trust Bank to being the chief executive officer of Absa Limited. He is also a director of various listed companies and business entities and a council member of the University of Pretoria.

Corné was appointed as CFO on 26 August 2010. He joined Senwes in 1999 and held various positions before he was appointed as CFO. He started his career at PWC as auditor. He has experience in IT, Audit, Corporate Finance, Treasury and Group Finance.

Nico has been farming in the Bothaville district since 1991. He established a diversified farming unit and is, inter alia, one of the suppliers of vegetables to a well-known retail group

Jaco has been involved with various organised agricultural management structures since 2000. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of Free State Agriculture from 2004 to 2011, and has been part of Grain SA’s management team from 2011. He is currently the chairman of Grain SA. He is also part of the general council of Agri SA and serves on various policy committees.

Thabo obtained a B.Sc Agric degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Pretoria (TUKS) in 1997. He has been serving on the board of Bothaville Milling since 2001, which has subsequently been changed to Thuso Milling. Thabo has extensive farming and business operations in the Wesselsbron and Bothaville areas and besides being a successful producer, is part of Thuso Grain, Feeds and Milling. He has also been instrumental in the establishment of Telwiedre Feeds in Bothaville and is also a director on the board of the aforesaid.
